The Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), through the FUAM, has partnered with BioSmartData to establish the UAM–BioSmartData Chair in Artificial Intelligence applied to Real World Evidence (RWE). The Chair will be academically led by Professors Doroteo Torre Toledano and Daniel Ramos Castro from the AUDIAS research group, whose expertise in machine learning and signal processing will play a central role in shaping its research and innovation agenda. While institutionally connected to the School of Engineering (Escuela Politécnica Superior, EPS), the initiative will primarily build on AUDIAS’s scientific leadership and research trajectory. The Chair will promote projects on chronic musculoskeletal pain, the evaluation of emerging therapies, treatment cost-effectiveness, and doctoral training, fostering strong university–industry collaboration and knowledge transfer. Acting as facilitator, the FUAM supports this strategic partnership, which creates a shared space for research, education, and innovation aimed at applying AI to real-world healthcare challenges and strengthening the impact of AUDIAS’s work within the healthcare ecosystem.
