Manuel Fernando Mollon Laorca [e-mail]

Manuel Mollon obtained a degree in Electronic Engineering with a specialization in Signal Processing in 2021 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (ITBA). While pursuing his studies, he began working in data analytics and data science, gaining valuable industry experience. From 2023 to 2024, he concurrently pursued a Master’s degree in Deep Learning for Audio and Video Processing at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). In 2024, he was awarded a PhD fellowship from the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions for the Natural Traces project under the supervision of Alicia Lozano Diez and Daniel Ramos Castro, within the AUDIAS research team. Since then, he has been engaged in research focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning, applying his expertise to biological themes such as genetics, forensics, and protein synthesis.


Sara Barahona Quirós [e-mail]

Sara Barahona Quirós graduated in Sound and Image Engineering from the Universidad de Málaga (UMA) in 2021, obtaining the Best Bachelor’s Thesis at the School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) of Málaga in the II Edition of the Chair of Commerce and Digital Transformation Awards. In 2022 she obtained her MSc in Deep Learning for Audio and Video Signal Processing from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). She is currently working on her Doctoral Thesis on Acoustic Event Detection and Speech Technologies under the supervision of Doroteo Torre and Daniel Ramos. During 2024, she joined the BUT Speech Group (Brno, Czech Republic) for a three-month research internship, where she worked on Speaker Verification under the supervision of Oldřich Plchot.


Pablo Ramírez Hereza [e-mail]

Pablo Ramírez Hereza obtained the Telecommunication Engineering Degree in 2017 and the Master of Telecommunication Engineering in 2019 from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Since 2019 he has been working in the Audias UAM research group, where he is actually pursuing his PhD Thesis based on probabilistic algorithms for industrial environments under the supervision of Daniel Ramos, while he’s finishing his ICT Research and Innovation Master’s Degree.


María Pilar Fernández Gallego [e-mail]

Maria Pilar Fernández Gallego obtained the Telecommunications Engineering Degree in 2016 from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. While she was studying the Master of Telecommunication Engineering she was working in Audias UAM research group, performing research and collaborating in some projects finishing in 2018. The last five months she did an internship at ELSA Speak in Lisbon as a speech scientist. Since 2019 she is pursuing her PhD on Automatic Speech Recognition under the supervision of Doroteo Torre. At the same time, she has joined Strategy Big Data where currently she is working on speech to text and speech analytics since 2019. 


Sergio Segovia González [e-mail]

Sergio Segovia González is industrial engineer from the Universidad de Valladolid (UVA), he is currently working in ENUSA Industrias Avanzadas, the state Nuclear Company and he is currently pursuing his PhD Thesis on Acoustic Event Detection and Automatic Speech Recognition under the supervisión of Doroteo Torre.


Sergio Álvarez Balanya [e-mail]

Sergio Alvarez Balanya obtained the Telecommunication Engineering Degree in 2018 and is currently enrolled in the ICT Research and Innovation Master’s Degree and starting his Ph.D. under the supervision of Daniel Ramos. He has been awarded a collaboration grant to work in AUDIAS, where he also undertakes his master’s thesis, under the supervision of Daniel Ramos. His current work focuses on the calibration of probabilistic models and uncertainty modeling.
